We were so shocked and saddened to hear of Gabriel’s passing and send much love to Eileen and their family. I particularly remember Gabriel as being a very friendly, sociable and supportive friend who will be greatly missed. His delicious and generous cooking and love of dancing are also remembered fondly. Rest in peace, Gabriel.

The passing away of Gabriel was a sorrowful departure, and my memories of him will be long-lived. I was touched by his consideration and kindness when we were in Ghana. I could not afford a private tuition fee for mathematics while in secondary school; but Gabriel enlisted the help of his brother, Blessed ( deceased), to offer us tuition. We studied together for this subject . Years passed and by coincidence, we met studying at the Ghana Medical Laboratory School and, on graduation, worked for the establishment. By 1974, Gabriel had moved to England on applying for a nursing school. Within a year of leaving Ghana, we met again in England. He was one of the friends I was familiar with in helping me to adjust and settle in England for nurse training. Gabriel worked in a number of areas and places in the health and social services sector Even though he was distant from me due to his work commitments and employment, he was not deterred being the best man at my wedding in 1985. 1 was privileged to have him for the preparation of the wedding and its success ! We kept in touch while on holidays, for celebrations and social visits ( work and time permitting ). He planned and wanted a holiday in Ghana for a rest but sadly passed away, leaving behind the family he so well loved. May he rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord. May his family find daily strength and comfort in their sorrow.
